David’s cottage in League City was perfect for our small family and pup. Having read a recent review that mentioned a roach problem I was a little apprehensive but upon arrival we found an IMMACULATELY CLEAN INTERIOR. By far one of the cleanest Airbnbs I’ve stayed at. We did see a couple of dead bugs near doorways, but as David had just had the place treated that is to be expected and we didn’t not see any after that. I SAW ZERO EVIDENCE OF ANY TYPE OF LONG TERM ISSUE. David was very communicative for questions before our stay and accommodating alternative check-in/out arrangements . The backyard fence is very secure and if you travel with kids/dogs you know this is hard to find. We didn’t use the hot tub but it was clean and working. The fire pit is also very nice! I’m really glad I booked this place and hope to stay again during future family visits. Great location/great host/clean house!

Wish I wouldn’t have planned a whole day out at lake fork instead of really enjoying the space. David communicated super clearly and I had no issue finding his driveway with his instructions. Trees are marked all the way to the back. Arrived night one and lit a bonfire. He left matches and lighter fluid since I asked about firewood before arriving. Super thoughtful! So peaceful and quiet. Loved seeing all the quirks of the home like the hidden stairs to the upstairs bedroom. He gave recommendations for things to do in town but I already had an itinerary. The only thing listed that wasn’t there was shampoo and body soap. I’m sure if I would have asked they would have had some but I didn’t want to be a bother so I improvised with the hand soap from inside. I usually bring some with me but didn’t this time. Check out instructions super clear! Will definitely book again when I need some quiet from the city!

The host, David, was incredibly accommodating and responsive. We asked to check in a day early at the last minute and he was happy to accept our request as well as accommodate our pets. The upgrades made throughout the home were very nice and it was also great that each room had its own tv. This was my first air bnb and was a great experience. We needed a longer term stay while we were in between selling and buying our new home and this worked perfectly. I appreciate that the linens were fresh and clean when we arrived and that the home was well stocked.

We had such a great stay and would absolutely come back! The space was exactly as described clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up with everything we needed. You can tell a lot of care goes into making guests feel welcome. We were in town for softball, and the location honestly made our trip even better. It was super convenient going back and forth to the fields, which made the days run so much smoother. There were also plenty of good food spots nearby, so grabbing meals between games or after long days was easy. Check-in was seamless, and communication with the host was quick and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, it was a relaxing, easy experience and we’d highly recommend this place to anyone especially if you’re in town for tournaments or events!

The Eagle Cabin is exactly what you need as part of your couple getaway. My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights, and it was everything we needed to unplug and relax. I would highly recommend this place if you are wanting to go glamping! Everything was exactly the same as in the listing. Be mindful that there are critters, but thats normal as you are staying in the middle of nature. Parking was tricky at first, as you would need to park behind the cabin and since there are trees, it can be a little tight, but that was no issue for us! Greatest part is that we had our 2 dogs with us as we couldn’t leave them behind, and they loved it just as much. Mineola is a gorgeous small town that reminded us of Fredericksburg just without the crowd so be sure to explore!! David was a great host. He communicated very well, provided us with awesome recommendations, and answered all of our questions. We definitely plan on staying at the Eagle Cabin more in the future!

We had a mission to take him to the beach he is 13 years old and was given 2 months to live or less. We contacted david knowing Chester is well over 30 lbs and explained our situation! Me, my husband and our fur babies stayed at David’s place. This was a long overdue peaceful weekend away for the 4th of July and it couldn’t have gone better. David was super responsive and helpful. The place was quiet and quaint and just far enough to have peace and quiet but close enough to Downtown Mineola to go for a stroll down Broad Street. We looked at antiques and had the best iced coffee and homemade fudge at a place called “Between Friends”. We also spent time at the local lake- Lake Holbrook which was literally across the road from David’s place. We enjoyed a fire in the fire pit and watched the fireflies while listening to the Bluetooth speakers under the stars! Best weekend ever, will definitely be back!

The place needs some sprucing up. There were things that just looked worn. The shower had some mold around the edges. They used black sheets on the bed and that creeped me out because you can’t tell how clean the sheets are. Some things looked brand new like the bathroom vanity and kitchen. The neighborhood was ok.

We were notified on Friday that AC was not workinh immediate had my AC guy come out same day and determined that plenum was needing to ne replaced and since parts were not available until Monday we provided space heater as it was in 50's gave him $100 credit and plenum was replaced Monday.

Great little house for a quick business trip. Much more relaxing than a hotel. Walkable to places in the neighborhood and restaurants.

Pros: The location was excellent as the NASA space center is only a few miles away, however downtown Houston is quite a distance away, and with traffic it may take you 45 minutes to get there. The kitchen is open and a decent size, has a gas stove, and a really nice sink and faucet. Cons: The host requests for personal information (photo of ID) on a website and to review and sign additional documents AFTER booking. I refused and AirBnB agreed this was not necessary. This is an older home that was poorly renovated as it has zero insulation. The home never got above 65F with just the heating system of the home, and I had to purchase a space heater to use while there just to be somewhat comfortable. There is no door for where the water heater is located. There is an RV trailer hooked up to the home in the backyard a few feet from the house, and it appears someone was in it. There are passing trains just a couple of blocks away, so it can get noisy. I would not stay here again.

I have taken a breath and thought long and hard how I want to respond to this review by Andrew. I will start off by saying that please look at the plentitude of previous reviews and know that I work and strive very hard to provide a great experience for my guests. From the very start of this journey with Andrew, he would not communicate. The very first message I sent him after he booked was.... looks like you have a furry friend, can you please tell me breed, age and weight. No response. Then I sent another message mentioning that I usually collect a extra pet/cleaning fee and would he please just let me know details of his furry friend. My extra fee is $25 to $50 depending on length of stay and type/breed of pet. Also, I won 6 short term rentals and now use a 3rd party property management software and because I get many direct bookings, I have my own rental contract and basic "common sense" requirements for any guest that stays here. This message is automated and all he had to do was COMMUNICATE WITH ME. Instead 2 days before he was to arrive, he wants to cancel when all he had to do was communicate, never did with me. His lack of communication was poor at the beginning and throughout his stay. We have an automated message that goes out the day after the check in asking how everything is and if there is anything we can do to elevate his experience. Once again, no response. Never any mention about the heating/air conditioning issue. BTW, the entire system is less than 4 years old. No mention about any issues. Furthermore, it is NOT 45 minutes to Houston unless you leave during rush hour. Also, "poorly renovated" is an absolute joke as I spent over 40K renovating this 1932 iconic railroad building and have NEVER had anyone say anything like this. On day of check out, still no response to our exiting message and as soon as he checked out, I walked the property and came to find out that there was an issue with the HVAC system. Immediately called my HVAC guy who was out same day and determined that blower motor was out. Had it replaced next day just in time for my new guest. Yes, there is a train that is a couple of blocks away most people enjoy the train and by the way, the RV hooked up in the back is mine and I live here when I am here on property. I am extremely accessible and available to take care of any potential issues that might arise. There are always lessons learned and my hope is that this gentleman learn how to communicate better, he just might find out that some people do care.

Great little house. Very quiet neighborhood. David was extremely friendly checking to make sure we had arrived and making sure everything was ok with the house. The house worked out perfect for us since it was so close to where our son lives.
